Open Studio and Independent Workout Guidelines

To participate in the open studio program at reFORM Pilates, you must have a current package of sessions. This does not include mat classes. It is mandatory that all independent students attend an independent workout workshop at reFORM or take a series of 5 private lessons focused on the independent workout material. All participants are required to test with an instructor at reFORM to prove proficiency in set-up and execution of the exercise.

It is required that each participant attend at least one lesson weekly. Open studio is meant to help each student develop his or her practice and further the benefits of what is learned in structured lessons.

The general studio hours are:

Monday-Saturday 8am-11am

Monday-Thursday 4:30 pm-7:30pm

Generally, hours are available from 7am-1pm and 2:30-7:30 on a week-by-week basis. Please call the studio (503-232-3560) to check for availability 12-24 hours before desired workout time.

While in the studio, scheduled lessons have priority over any apparatus. 8:30am and 9:30am and 5:30pm and 6:30pm tend to be our busiest hours, so please be aware of this. Reformer availability may be limited during these time slots.

If you are unsure of the set-up of any apparatus, please feel free to ask an instructor as long as you are not interrupting a lesson. IF you are unsure, please use good judgment and omit the exercise in question.

Open studio packages are as follows:

Drop in $15

5 sessions $65 (to be used in 60 days)

10 sessions $110 (to be used in 90 days)

1 month unlimited $90

An independent Pilates practice is an essential part of integrating the Pilates system and exercise into one's life. We will continue to offer workshops and continuing education to enhance everyone's experience for students and teachers alike. Independent practice is intended to help students in cost, efficiency, and convenience. Ideally, one should practice Pilates 3-5 times weekly to experience maximum benefits. Students and teachers always need another set of eyes--Pilates as a practice is so dependent on proper alignment. Each student should continue to advance and grow within the system, so we recommend challenging the body and mind with questions and variations. With more than 600 exercises in the Pilates system, and as one's body changes, we should always be open to how we can challenge ourselves further.
