In person Pilates and Gyrotonic lessons are back in Portland!
Following the OHA’s Phase 1 guidelines for fitness-related organizations, we plan a soft reopening for Private and Semi-Private lessons this week. For those not ready to return to our space (we support you!) we’re continuing our online Zoom sessions. It is important to us that clients and instructors return to the studio when they feel safe in doing so for themselves.
Pilates and Gyrotonic Groups (of 3-4), Mat, Gyrokinesis, Barre & Yoga Narada classes will remain online at this time. We have reorganized the studio and spaced equipment so Pilates groups of 3-4 are possible, however we are exercising extra caution around group fitness and will not begin offering groups until we have had some practice working in the space.
We will offer Supervised Open Studio hours to allow clients to work out independently while a teacher monitors cleaning and spacing. Please email us to find out when we have Open Studio availability.
Guidelines for Attendance
Each time before coming to the studio, examine these questions for yourself:
- Â Â Â Â Have you had a cough or sneeze?
- Â Â Have you had a fever? (Please check)
- Â Â Â Â Have you had shortness of breath?
- Â Â Â Â Have you been in close contact with anyone with these symptoms or anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
Please inform reFORM if you do come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Plan ahead:
- For Gyrotonic lessons please bring your own towel for the benches and JSB.
- Please bring your own water bottle. Our water cooler will not be available at this time.
- We will not have the changing area available at this time.
Teachers and clients will wear face coverings (see guidelines) and remain 6 feet apart.
Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your lesson time. Depending on where you will be working that day, your teacher will come to the main door or the wooden double doors and let you in. There are now multiple computer stations around the studio to avoid gathering near the front desk.
Teachers and clients will wash or sanitize hands before and after each session. We have added a hand washing station to supplement the bathrooms.
We will leave at least 15 minutes of time in between sessions in order to provide time for disinfecting equipment, washing hands and spacing out the arrival and departure of clients.
Only two teachers in the studio at a time. Teachers’ schedules will be offset by 15-30 minutes to allow clients to arrive and leave with plenty of space.
We ask that clients clean all of their equipment after use. Instructors will clean again as a secondary precaution.
Considerations to protect yourselves and others:
Bring a pair of new, studio designated, garden gloves to use while on the equipment.
Bring a pair of clean socks or toe socks to put on once you arrive at the studio.
Other important information:
We have purchased two Air Doctor Pro air filters for the space and new air filters have been installed on the HVAC systems.
We are using a hospital grade cleaner that is on the list of EPA approved cleaners for killing Human Coronavirus.
We have purchased additional sets of Gyrotonic straps so that they can be consistently changed out and cleaned.
We have hand sanitizer throughout the studio. Please use it often!
